Lunette oil painting

The oil painting in the lunette above shows Daniel Boone and his men seeing the bluegrass area for the first time from Pilot Knob. Its title is "Boone Sees a Second Paradise."

The other lunette painting, shown at right, shows Daniel Boone and the Transylvania Co. buying the land known as "Kentucky" from the Cherokee Indians. Its title is "Acquisition of Land of Kentucky."
